Operation Iraqi Freedom was the effective US procedure to topple the regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. It started as a response to the bombing of the twin towers in New York in September 2001. The stated goal of the operation was to wipe out al Qaeda and destroy their influence in the location but the unspoken objective was genuinely to get Saddam Hussein out of power.
