The M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle took combat to a complete new stage when it was launched as a compliment to the M1 Abrams tank. Up right up until the time of its introduction the M113 Armored Personnel Carrier was used to transport troops to enemy contact. It was lightly armored and armed with a machine gun which was mainly utilised for safety.
